What-to-tailor calculator

I made this webpage because I wanted to know what I should be tailoring at a given level. While there are many other pages that tell you this, this one is designed with one thing in mind: you have BODs (Bulk Order Deeds), and you want to fill them. If you don't have them, go get them! No point in being a crafter if you don't. They may sound silly, but do it anyway.

The charts that are generated below highlight the numbers in the specified range, showing you which items you should focus on for gains, provided you have BODs that demand those items.

Examples

Let's say you've never picked up a sewing kit before, but you really want to start. You've got absolutely zero skill. Looking at the results, you should focus on bandanas, doublets, skullcaps, tunics and body sashes. If you have friends/guildmates that have BODs for these items, then give them away! If you've got your own BODs for these items (because you picked them up off the floor and thought they were interesting), start tossing them in! And once you've gained that .1 Tailoring, go speak to a tailor and get your own BODs, on the hour, every hour.

Now let's say you have 27.5 tailoring skill because you trained with a tailor NPC in town. Now it looks like you should make anything from Fancy Shirts to Female Leather Skirts for gains. Again, focus on what you have BODs for. If you have BODs for items further up the list, make those FIRST, because if there's any chance of gaining from the easier things, it'll happen now rather than when you're more skilled.

Also, if the highlighted items aren't needed in any BODs you have, you can also check for Exceptional BODs you might need filled, and try to do those. Note that the best chance you have (on the easiest items) is only 45% right now.

How to use it

Enter your tailoring skill in, and the range you want to highlight. Common wisdom is that the 40-60% success range is best for gains in most skills. If you know different, by all means, change it.

Notes

This is NOT meant to be a page on the fastest or cheapest way to gain tailoring. It's reasonably good for speed, but really focuses on whether you have the BODs for certain items. There are many tailoring items that aren't listed here, that might be better for gain at a given level, but there aren't BODs for those items, so they're not shown. As for the cost -- you bet this is more expensive that other methods. Usually you would snip up your cloth and leather items to get back a portion of material to re-use for more practice. We're not doing that here -- we're throwing it into BODs! The idea is to fill BODs while gaining skill. Also, if you're buying your cloth/leather, the BODs can help provide you with extra gold when you cash them in - or when you sell them to people all filled up.

Also note that there are minimum skill requirements for using certain materials (the colored leathers), which aren't represented in this chart. It's assumed that if you're using this page for gains, you probably aren't concerned about spined, horned and barbed leather BODs.
